That is why it is classified as "counterfeiting" and NOT theft. in fact it does not come under the larceny laws at all but instead under both trespass and 'passing off' (fraud against the crown) instead. Absolutely.. That is why it is classified as “counterfeiting” and NOT theft. in fact it does not come under the larceny laws at all but instead under both trespass and ‘passing off’ (fraud against the crown) instead.

Calling Piracy theft by any organisation, govt, or other legal authority is false and misleading practice in itself.
